The Level at Meliá Barcelona Sky

Situated in the Poble Nou area, this is an excellent choice for luxury family hotels in Barcelona. They have an excellent pool, but it may not be heated if you visit in winter. There is a jacuzzi in the spa, as well. You must be 16 or older to use it. Then again, the beach is only 15 min away if you want to get the kids in the sand.

Highly rated by families, the Level at Meliá is considered one of the best family hotels in Barcelona for the amount of luxury you get for the price. There are spas, cocktail services, and a gym. Some parents may be more interested in free wifi, the flexible check out times and the laundry and babysitter services (extra fees apply).

There are also restaurants in the hotel, and they can cater to gluten and lactose-intolerant diets.

The Metro Poble Nou station is a few minute’s walk away, and the center of town is only a few stations. Rooms can accommodate up to 3 adults and one child.

U232 Hotel

Right around the corner from the Hospital Clinic Metro Station in the Eixample district, the U232 is highly rated as a great family hotel in Barcelona. They offer a breakfast buffet and pizza delivery to your room if you decide to stay in. What’s more, the U232 can also accommodate large families with connecting triple and double rooms. One child under 2 can stay for free when using existing bedding or in a crib or cot, which they can provide (check availability).

Family rooms have 2 TVs and 2 full baths. Be quiet if the kids are asleep, however — there are reports that the doors make a bit of noise.

The location is very close to Barcelona’s main shopping street (Diagonal Ave.). And it’s only a short trip to places like Camp Nou, the Magic Fountain, and the Sagrada Familia. All this, and in a quiet neighborhood, too.

AC Hotel Barcelona Forum by Marriott

Sitting at the end of the Diagonal Ave. shopping area, the AC Hotel Barcelona Forum is only a few minutes’ walk to the beach. Downtown Barcelona is 15 minutes away. There are many of the best family hotels in Barcelona in this area, and this is one of them.

The Marriot’s family rooms are a little bigger than most family rooms at this level, and there are some connecting rooms available, as well.

There are reports of good wifi here. It’s free, but high-speed comes with a fee. That may be because this caters more to business travelers than to Barcelona family travelers, but take it when you can get it.

Don’t let the “business hotel” veneer lose you. The Marriott gets high marks from family travelers, and its location on the beach earns it an extra point from little swimmers.

Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona

Only minutes from the sand, the Hilton Diagonal Mar has the city on one side and the beach on the other. The pool is open from May to October, but Nova Mar Bella Beach is only 400 meters away.

Two minutes out the front door is El Maresme-Forum Metro Station, which can whisk you into central Barcelona in less than 20 minutes. Markets are right outside. The Hop-on, hop-off bus stops right next to the hotel.

Ohla Eixample

Looking for a boutique family hotel in Barcelona? Visiting the city to see the work of Antoni Gaudi? Then consider the Ohla Eixample. The Ohla Eixample is only 10 minutes from La Pedrera, Casa Mila, and Casa Batlló, and the Sagrada Familia is a short walk from there.

Families will also appreciate the heated pool (365 days a year), which comes in handy if you decide to visit Barcelona in winter (We recommend it. It’s quite festive!).

Digital nomad families will appreciate the high-speed wifi and the safes capable of fitting your laptop. The location is hard to beat: walking distance to many of the city’s best sites and a rooftop view to be envied.

There are double rooms and connecting rooms that can accommodate a family of four. Some people consider the doors to be too heavy for young kids to operate on their own. Keep that in mind, but it is still considered one of the best family hotels in Barcelona.

Hotel Casa Fuster G L Monumento

Situated at the top of the stylish Passeig de Gracia Avenue, the Hotel Casa Fuster G L Monumento is an amazing monument to modernism itself. How often do you and your family sleep in a UNESCO Heritage Site? The hallways and some rooms may not be as bright as they could be, but the design and history may make it up for many of you. The neighborhood is great, as well, and you’re close to many of Gaudi’s most famous works in town.

One kid under 2 can stay for free using existing bedding or a crib or baby cot. If you have one older child, he/she will be charged EUR 55 per person per night in an extra bed.

This is one of the best family hotels in Barcelona, but note that at the time of writing (late spring 2017), the building was undergoing renovation. That means the sounds of construction are common — especially on the lower floors.

The streets are quieter at night and the nearby beaches tend to be less crowded in the warmer months. These can be a plus or a minus depending on you.

Kids under 2 years can stay for free in a cot, crib or existing bedding. Kids under 12 years are 44 euros per night for extra beds. Only one extra bed is allowed. All further guests are 44 Euro per night.
