We spent an entire summer driving through Northern Spain with kids, and wish we had stayed for longer. Northern Spain is a very different place than Southern Spain or another region of the country. It can be quite cold and wet in the winter months, but for a summer holiday, the weather is damn near perfect. Moreover, Northern Spain is much less crowded than Andalusia, Barcelona, the Costa Blanca and other main tourist hubs.
